ABOUT ME

Every life has a melody, and mine has always been guided by music, love, and connection. What began in Holland with simple roots and a passion for sound has carried me across the world and into a life on the island of Fuerteventura. Here, I’ve built a home, a family, and a career doing what I love most: sharing music and meaningful moments with others.

My Story

I was born in Holland, raised on potatoes, vegetables, and the Beatles. Music was my first love—even before I could speak—and it has been the guiding thread throughout my life, eventually bringing me to Fuerteventura. For more than 30 years, I’ve called this island home. Here, I’ve raised my two wonderful daughters, Melody and Shana, and married the love of my life, Claudia. To this day, I continue to live in the glow of our relationship.

Fuerteventura gave me the opportunity to live as a professional musician, performing in bars, restaurants, and hotels. I am classically trained on Spanish guitar and hold a degree in Sonology from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. My repertoire stretches from ABBA to Zappa, and I enjoy playing in nearly every musical style.

Over the years, I’ve experimented with countless instruments—my home is still full of them—but these days I focus mainly on Spanish and electric guitar, piano, and the aerophone (an electronic saxophone).

Music is a universal language, and through it I’ve connected with so many people in open and heartfelt ways. I feel truly blessed to make a living from my passion while living where my heart belongs. I love a good singalong and the joy of seeing happy faces, yet there’s also a deeper side of me that treasures poetry, composition, and above all, love—the most beautiful phenomenon of all.

This love for connection and meaning inspired me to become a celebrant. Every aspect of this role is deeply rewarding: the bond with my clients, the emotions shared with their families and friends, and the lasting memories we create together. These moments are treasures we carry with us.

And so, I keep saying: Life is good—Salud!
